Strengthening Interprofessional Education for HIV

Strengthening the HIV Health Workforce Across Africa

Since 2019, Strengthening InterProfessional Education for HIV (STRIPE) HIV has supported U.S. government efforts to build health workforce capacity across Africa for HIV epidemic control.

Through case-based, interprofessional HIV education and improving quality of care, STRIPE HIV supports academic and clinical educators to train healthcare professionals. It positions institutions as in-country technical resources for universities, local public health organizations, and national health systems.

Together, this approach prepares the next generation of healthcare leaders to deliver high-quality, collaborative, evidence-informed care aligned with national health priorities.

STRIPE HIV Priorities

  • Strengthen clinical capacity to end HIV
  • Ensure sustainability by partnering locally
  • Promote team-based, interprofessional care to improve patient outcomes
  • Capacitate health systems to deliver high-quality HIV care
